three vaults and a garden

The project is located in a plotted development just outside Ahmedabad. The client wanted a weekend home which was a clear departure from urban homes and gave equal scope and importance to landscape. The layout was a response to this brief to keep the footprint concise and spaces opening into the landscape. The vaulted form was a natural extension to create volumes which received light & ventilation from above and also made the spaces volumetrically diverse. The material palette comprises of masonry walls of stone from the nearby town of Dhrangadhra, rammed earth walls and plastered brick walls.
